Presentations from invited speakers at the 21 February 2023 Joint ANZSRS/TSANZ Lung Club Dinner will include:

Professor Shyamali Dharmage & Dr Dinh Bui will present virtually on their recent Lancet publication 

"Lifetime spirometry patterns of obstruction and restriction, and their risk factors and outcomes: a prospective cohort study".

Prof Shyamali Dharmage (MBBS, MSc, MD, PhD), trained in Clinical Medicine, Public Health & Epidemiology, leads the Allergy & Lung Health Unit at the University of Melbourne. She is a world-recognised leader in Life Course Epidemiology of Allergies and Chronic Respiratory Diseases and is ranked in the top 0.047% worldwide in the field of Obstructive Lung Diseases (Expertscape rank). Prof Dharmage is the current custodian and PI of three of the world’s key studies in allergies and lung health including the Tasmanian Longitudinal Health Study (TAHS), Melbourne Atopy Cohort Study (MACS) and Melbourne Study of Childhood Asthma (MESCA).

Dr Dinh Bui is a Senior Research Fellow at Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics, the University of Melbourne. His postgraduate qualifications include Master of Environment with a specialisation in public health (2011) and a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics (2019), both from The University of Melbourne. Dinh's research focuses on lifetime lung function deficits, chronic lung diseases, particularly COPD, and their risk factors.

Professor Kylie Hill will present on "The pulmonary rehabilitation train: a deeper dive into the reasons people do not board..."

Professor Hill works at the Curtin School of Allied Health. Her clinical and research interest pertain largely to the role of exercise training in people with chronic lung disease.
