All TSANZ VIC Branch members are warmly welcome to come and listen to why research is important and how to keep it alive. Dr Narelle Cox - Physiotherapist and Dr Hayley Barnes - Respiratory Physician, both early career researchers, will share their journey and what spurs them on in their pursuit. 

Dr Hayley Barnes

Dr Hayley Barnes is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Central Clinical School, and Department of Occupational and Environmental Health, Monash University and works as a Respiratory Physician at the Alfred Hospital. Her research is focused on interstital lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and other end-stage lung diseases. Dr Barnes is an editor of the Cochrane Airways Group, PaPas Group, and BMC Pulmonary Medicine.

Dr Narelle Cox

Dr Narelle Cox is an experienced physiotherapist who has worked extensively in paediatric and adult respiratory care. Narelle's research focuses on improving health and clinical outcomes for people with chronic respiratory disease through physical activity and exercise rehabilitation; including exploration of telemedicine and technology-based strategies to promote greater access to and participation in exercise rehabilitation. She works within the Central Clinical School at Alfred Health, and is a current NHMRC Emerging Leader Fellow. She is chair of the Planning Committee and Executive member of the American Thoracic Society Scientific Assembly on Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and recently served as the co-choir of the Research Subcommittee for the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
