Topic: Pulmonary Function testing during COVID-19 in the primary and occupational health settings

This webinar will focus on the latest ANZSRS/TSANZ Position Statement on Pulmonary Function Testing during SARS-CoV-2. It will feature talks from members of the working group and will have a Q&A session for attendees at the conclusion of the presentations. All interested members and non-members alike are encouraged to attend! 

Speakers: 

Ms Brigitte Borg - Clinical Respiratory Physiologist

Brigitte is an accredited clinical physiologist (respiratory) with 29 years’ experience. Brigitte works at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne as Head, Physiology Service, Respiratory Medicine. Brigitte’s areas of interest in the field of respiratory medicine include lung function interpretation (for which she co-authored a book in 2014), laboratory accreditation, quality spirometry in primary care, and oxygen therapy. Brigitte has recently participated in the development of the ANZSRS/TSANZ position statement on pulmonary function testing during COVID-19 as a co-chair of the working group.

Prof Hiran Selvadurai - Paediatric Respiratory Physician

Prof Hiran Selvadurai is a paediatric respiratory physician and Head of Department at The Children’s Hospital, Westmead. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of TSANZ and a current member of the LAQC.

Dr Keith Adam - Specialist Occupational and Environmental Physician

Dr Adam is a specialist occupational physician, and is Chief Medical Officer of Sonic HealthPlus, the division of Sonic Healthcare specialising in occupational health. He has had a long involvement with the mining industry in Queensland, where spirometry is an important component of ongoing health surveillance of miners. He is also an adjunct associate Prof at the University of Queensland, lecturing occupational health to undergraduate health and safety students. He has contributed an occupational health perspective to the Working Party.

Dr Kerry Hancock - General Practitioner

Dr Hancock is a GP and is passionate for patients with respiratory conditions to access excellent clinical care by primary care practitioners and to ensure that patients are diagnosed in a timely manner to achieve best outcomes for health and wellbeing. She has been heavily involved in developing primary care guidelines and resources for COPD, asthma and lung cancer and is currently Chair RACGP Respiratory Medicine Specific Interest Group and Chair LFA Primary Care Clinical Council. She sits independently on the Lung Cancer Advisory Group for Cancer Australia.
