Program:

• The TSANZ TAS Branch Executive are pleased to announce 2023 Annual Scientific Meeting invited speaker will be Associate Professor Nicole Goh who will present on the 'Changing Landscape of ILD'. View more information on this highly anticipated presentation here.

• The TSANZ TAS Branch Executive also look forward to welcoming invited speaker Dr James Markos to the meeting, to celebrate his retirement and take the opportunity to thank him for his valued contribution to the Respiratory and Tasmanian community. Dr Markos is a Senior Respiratory Physician at the Launceston General Hospital. Dr Markos will present ‘Living and Leaving a Long Lung Life’.

Onsite Accommodation:

• Please note that there is limited onsite accommodation, which is not included in the registration fees. Please book directly with White Sands Estate with accommodation rooms held for this meeting. Please contact them via phone on 03 6372 2228 between 9am-4pm, 7 days and quote TSANZ23.
• Note: Shared accommodation in two-bedroom villas is available and we ask where possible and appropriate to please consider sharing with a friend/colleague to allow more TSANZ TAS members to be able to stay onsite. There is also a six-bedroom lodge available which can be shared, please get in touch with White Sands Estate on this if you have a group and would like to book this in.
• Check in: from 2pm Check out: 10am
• A credit card will be required at the time of booking – which will be charged on the day of check-in.
• Please note that the property does not have a Reception Desk, you will receive a confirmation email with all of the relevant reservation information. A few days prior to arrival you will then receive a Welcome email, which has a pin-code to access Villa keys from the lock-box.
• In addition to the Villas we have held for this Event, there are a number of privately owned Villas located on the Estate, which delegates can also book via external websites such as Booking.com or Airbnb.
• All Villas have fully self-contained kitchens for meal preparation & serving - see below information on the closest supermarkets to the venue.
• IMPORTANT: Please note White Sands receives Telstra & Optus mobile coverage only. Free Wi-Fi is available in the main building during opening hours.  
• Note: For those staying at White Sands Estate there is a breakfast option that can be added on at $30 per person for Sunday morning. Please express your interest in this via the registration form and this will be confirmed if proceeding and we will be in touch to request payment, closer to the meeting.

Offsite Accommodation options:

There are a number of accommodation options in nearby Scamander, approximately 15-20 minutes from the venue as below:

• A number of rooms have also been held for attendees (until 1 November) at the Blue Seas Holiday Villas - Self contained villas - contact them on 03 6372 5211 and quote The Thoracic Society to book these in.

St Helens is approximately 30 minutes from the venue and has a number of accommodation options as below:

Please note due to being busy dates in this area of Tasmania we recommend booking your accommodation as soon as possible.

Closest Supermarkets on the way to the venue

• If travelling from Launceston a supermarket in St Marys would be the closest supermarket.  
• If travelling from Hobart, Bicheno would be the closest enroute.
• There is also a small supermarket in Scamander.
